The 3D-FOGROD project aims to enhance understanding of forest growth dynamics and carbon cycling using advanced 3D laser scanning techniques. This research will inform better forest management practices and contribute to climate change mitigation efforts.
Forest ecosystems are an essential terrestrial carbon sink, and deforestation and forest degradation account for about 12% of global anthropogenic carbon emissions.
