Tripleye has created a new camera-based system called Circular Optical Perception (COP) to enhance the safety of autonomous vehicles. By using advanced algorithms and a fisheye camera, COP improves spatial awareness for earthmoving and material handling machines, addressing alignment issues that can compromise safety.
The problem with todays autonomous system architectures is that minimal changes in the camera alignment of less than 1 mm can lead to significant misalignments and invalidate measurements of the surrounding environment, leading to major safety concerns in autonomous vehicles.
