This project focuses on understanding galaxy evolution through cluster assembly processes, particularly in the Shapley super-cluster. Utilizing multi-wavelength observations, it aims to enhance collaboration among institutions to study the dynamics of galaxies in various environments.
We propose a joint research programme aimed at determining the importance of cluster assembly processes in driving the evolution of galaxies as a function of galaxy mass and environment, studying the Shapley super-cluster, the richest and the most dramatically active region in the local Universe.
The participants will benefit from already available multi-wavelength observations, including panoramic imaging in UV, optical, NIR, X-ray and radio, and high-S/N medium-resolution optical spectroscopy…
