This project aims to enhance the thermal and acoustic performance of air-cooled oil coolers used in engines. It involves testing these coolers in a high-speed wind tunnel to assess their heat extraction capabilities and surface temperature distributions under realistic conditions.
The present proposal addresses the acoustic and thermal instrumentation, tests and modelling of engine surface coolers in representative aerodynamic conditions.
In addition to aerodynamic tests already performed on surface coolers in a regional funded project, complementary tests have to be conducted to characterize these equipments from a thermal and acoustic point of view.
