This project addresses combustion instability in gas turbines, which hinders efforts to reduce harmful emissions. It aims to develop advanced modeling tools and active control strategies to mitigate instability, thereby enabling lower nitrogen oxide emissions and improving combustion efficiency.
Combustion is essential to the world’s energy generation and transport needs, and will remain so for the foreseeable future.
