The AdBiCon project aims to enhance the reuse of municipal solid waste in construction materials by immobilizing bacteria in waste ashes. This innovative approach seeks to improve the properties of alkali-activated concrete, promoting sustainability in the construction sector.
The AdBiCon project will develop innovative techniques to immobilise bacteria in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) bottom ashes fortheir effective reuse as precursors in alkali activated concrete (AAC).
The incorporation of MSW in AAC enables the reuse of locallygenerated landfill waste in construction materials, offering a path to decarbonisation of the construction sector.
