This project develops a new method to improve the efficiency of thin film silicon solar cells using specially arranged micro-particles to enhance light absorption. It combines computational and experimental techniques to optimize solar cell performance.
A novel light trapping approach will be developed to enhance the absorption of thin film silicon (Si) solar cells using periodic arrangements of resonant dielectric micro-particles (DMPs) with dimensions on the other of the illuminating wavelengths.
