This project develops a new method to study past Arctic sea ice conditions using ancient DNA from marine sediments. By analyzing genetic information from phytoplankton, it aims to improve our understanding of historical sea ice variability and its implications for climate change.
Arctic sea ice decline is the exponent of the rapidly transforming Arctic climate.
