This project focuses on the chemical analysis of glass mosaics from Knossos to understand their composition and historical context. By comparing these mosaics with samples from other sites, it aims to reveal insights into ancient glassmaking traditions and cultural exchanges.
The main objective during the two-year fellowship is to complete the chemical characterisation of mosaics from Knossos, to conduct meta-analyses of different glass studies and to gain access to and expand my analytical study to other comparative glass samples.
