This project examines the complex relationships between humans and animals in sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on how these interactions affect livelihoods and health. Through ethnographic studies, it aims to develop new perspectives on multi-species governance and sustainability.
Animals are central to the livelihood strategies of millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa.
Across the continent, animals provide sources of food and income, despite the growth of more diverse modes of subsistence.
