The ALOE-DIVERSITY project aims to create a comprehensive phylogenetic framework for the Aloe genus, analyzing 200 taxa and generating chemical and bioactivity data for 50 species. This research will enhance understanding of the medicinal properties of Aloe and promote sustainable practices in its use and conservation.
Dr Olwen Grace has worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in the United Kingdom since 2004.
She was recognised as a promising young scientist in South Africa where she began her research career in botany, and completed a part-time PhD in Plant Science at the University of Pretoria in 2009.
