This project develops ALOEco, a 100% organic Aloe vera-based coating to extend the shelf life of fresh vegetables by 40%. It aims to reduce food waste and eliminate the need for synthetic fungicides and packaging, addressing the challenges of perishable goods in the food supply chain.
The demand of fresh fruits and vegetables is increasing gradually.
However, fresh fruit and vegetables are perishable products whose freshness is difficult to maintain along the supply chain.
