ALTERNATIVE aims to create a platform for detecting the heart-related toxicity of chemicals, particularly focusing on older adults. It combines a three-dimensional tissue model with advanced monitoring and machine learning to assess risks, helping regulators and industries manage chemical exposure effectively.
ALTERNATIVE will develop an innovative platform able to detect the cardiotoxicity of chemicals and their bio-transformation products.
The novel platform will enable regulators and industry to identify, quantify and prevent cardiotoxic co-exposures to industrial chemicals and pharmaceuticals in a cost-effective way.
