This project focuses on developing advanced materials and devices for storing thermal energy at extremely high temperatures, up to 2000ºC. It aims to create new phase change materials and solid-state converters to enhance energy density and efficiency in thermal energy storage systems.
This project will investigate the next generation of materials and devices for latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) at ultra-high temperatures of up to 2000ºC, which are well beyond today's maximum operation temperatures of ~1000ºC.
