This project seeks to develop an energy-efficient microwave thermal treatment system for the safe destruction of asbestos. The goal is to create a cost-effective solution that minimizes emissions and allows for the safe reuse of by-products in construction materials.
The widespread use of asbestos in building materials and other applications up until the 1990s has created a severe problem for the European community in terms of adequately mitigating the asbestos risk, and there are a number of reasons for acting now.
