This project aims to develop specialized materials to selectively remove biogenic amines from wine without altering its quality. By addressing the toxicity of these compounds, the project seeks to enhance wine safety and quality through innovative filtration techniques.
The presence of biogenic amines (BA) (histamine, putrescine, cadaverine, etc) is usual in fermented beverages such as wine.
Due to the toxicity of these BA, some countries have established recommendations concerning the maximum levels allowed in wines.
