This project focuses on advancing molecular structure analysis using atomic force microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy. It aims to develop new techniques for characterizing complex molecules, including their stereochemistry and reactivity, enhancing applications in various scientific fields.
Molecular structure elucidation is of great importance in synthetic chemistry, pharmacy, life sciences, energy and environmental sciences, and technology applications.
To date structure elucidation by atomic force microscopy (AFM) has been demonstrated for a few, small and mainly planar molecules.
