This project focuses on developing a prostate cancer diagnostic kit that utilizes glycoprofiling of proteins with lectins. The aim is to provide a reliable second opinion for biopsy decisions, reducing unnecessary procedures and improving accuracy compared to traditional PSA tests.
The technology validation was successfully completed indicating a great commercial potential, and the innovative and inventive aspects of the assay platform are now covered by the filed priority European Patent Office (EPO) patent applications.
Validated glycoprofiling of the proteins now uses lectins in a format, fully compatible with clinical PSA assay kits.
