Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbioses are mutualistic associations between soil fungi and most vascular plants.
During this symbiosis AM fungi help on plant fitness by providing plants with water and essential nutrients allowing them to survive under stressful conditions, specially under phosphate-limited conditions.
