Escala Medical is developing Apyx, a minimally invasive device for early-stage pelvic organ prolapse repair. This innovative solution aims to improve quality of life and prevent the progression of prolapse without the need for surgery.
Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) affects nearly 50% of women over 40 years old globally. 89% of the cases seek treatment for symptomatic early stage prolapse.
Despite the high prevalence and the progression of POP over time, patients currently cannot be offered a repair solution until the condition worsens enough for surgical intervention.
