The Arrachnobarrier2.0 project aims to investigate the arachnoid barrier's structure and function in the central nervous system. It seeks to understand its role in disease and its adaptations for cerebrospinal fluid transit, addressing a significant gap in neurobiology.
Less is known about the structural and functional importance of the arachnoid barrier than any other CNS barrier, including the blood-brain barrier.
Animal models of arachnoid barrier impairment are not known/have not been analyzed.
