The ARTIAC project explores the evolving role of teachers in classrooms where technology can assess students' academic and emotional states. It aims to provide teachers with tools to offer timely emotional support based on real-time data.
The suggested project (ARTIAC) will be carried out under the interdisciplinary field of the Learning Sciences, and will use various research methodologies, including state-of-the-art Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining approaches.
Its main purpose is to empirically study the changing role of the teacher in an era where software used in class might be capable of recognizing not only a pupil’s academic level and needs, but also the pupil’s emotional regularities and irregularities.
