This project aims to create a simplified model of a neuron using a Giant Unilamellar Vesicle to study the propagation of electrochemical signals. By examining various parameters, it seeks to enhance understanding of biological signaling and action potential dynamics.
The active propagation of electrochemical signals is widespread in biological organisms because of the need for efficient, rapid communication.
Open questions about signaling remain because experiments with actual neurons are constrained by the neuron’s complex structure and intricate feedback.
