The ASCENT project aims to develop materials and devices that utilize the quantum properties of electron and nuclear spins for advanced technologies. It focuses on creating systems that exhibit long-lived quantum coherence, which can be applied in quantum information processing and precision sensors.
The property of spin has been harnessed in an array of revolutionary technologies, from nuclear spins in magnetic resonance imaging to spintronics in magnetic recording media.
