ASTRODUST aims to explore the interaction between the heliosphere and interstellar dust in our galaxy. By combining observations and simulations, it seeks to answer fundamental questions about the structure and dynamics of the heliosphere and the nature of interstellar dust.
The Sun and the surrounding heliosphere move through a low-density region in the Galaxy, which is filled with partially ionized gas and interstellar dust.
