This project investigates the role of astrocytes in regulating metabolism and their potential contribution to obesity and type 2 diabetes. By exploring the communication between astrocytes and neurons, the research aims to uncover new therapeutic strategies targeting metabolic disorders.
Despite considerable efforts aimed at prevention and treatment, the prevalence of obesity and type 2 diabetes has increased at an alarming rate worldwide over recent decades.
