The Athero-B-Cell Consortium aims to uncover therapeutic targets for cardiovascular disease by studying B cell responses. Utilizing advanced data from previous studies, the project seeks to develop innovative treatments and vaccines to combat cardiovascular conditions.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and morbidity is predicted to increase in Europe and worldwide in the next decades due to aging and the rise of diabetes and obesity.
The link between metabolic and inflammatory disease is getting stronger, raising hopes for novel therapeutic targets to be exploited clinically.
Clinical evidence generated by the Academic partners of the Athero-B-Cell Consortium demonstrates that CVD is associated with pro- and anti-atherogenic B cell responses.
