The Bayhadron project develops new statistical methods for determining Parton Distribution Functions and Transverse-Momentum-Dependent Parton Distribution Functions, crucial for understanding the internal structure of protons. It aims to improve the accuracy of these measurements using Bayesian inference.
Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) and Transverse-Momentum-Dependent PDFs (TMDs) encode our knowledge of the nucleon internal structure in terms of their elementary constituents, quarks and gluons.
They are determined by means of global analyses of experimental data which require the development of suitable fitting methodologies. PDFs and TMDs represent an important input for precision studies at current and future accelerator facilities.
