The Beauty2Charm project investigates Charge-Parity asymmetries in beauty meson decays to search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. By upgrading the LHCb experiment, the project aims to enhance measurement precision and sensitivity to potential CP violation.
The present matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe cannot be explained by the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. I propose to look for the presence of new physics beyond the SM in Charge-Parity (CP) asymmetries using beauty mesons decaying to charmed mesons (Beauty2Charm). A unique feature of these decays is that the SM contribution can be precisely measured using relations between ten decay modes all of which can be measured with in a coherent manner at a single experiment:
