BeCAMP investigates migration management in Italy and Spain, focusing on the reception systems for migrants and their coping strategies. The project aims to provide an ethnographically informed account to counter negative narratives and promote human rights-oriented policies.
Despite the fact that migration figures do not support calls to emergency, the European political discourse is still highly dominated by the idea of a “refugee crisis”, a concept on which several right-wing parties have built their political capital.
