BETACONTROL aims to develop small molecules that inhibit the formation of amyloid fibrils linked to diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The project focuses on targeting specific protein structures to prevent toxic aggregates.
The aggregation of proteins into amyloid fibrils is involved in various diseases which place a high burden on patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare systems, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and type 2 diabetes.
