Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the largest world health problems: annually 10 million people become ill and 1.5 million people die from TB.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO) this is largely attributed to the fact that 4 million TB patients are not diagnosed each year, due to lack of a good diagnostic tests.
According to European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in 2017 323.000 new cases of TB have been registered and 32.000 Europeans died from TB.
