BioTransform focuses on the health impacts of bioactive compounds in food, particularly their metabolism and effects on gut microbiota. The project employs various research methods to explore how these compounds influence health and disease.
BioTransform is a multidisciplinary doctoral network aiming to investigate the role of certain constituents found in food products (food bioactives - FB) on human health, focusing on their metabolism. FB coexist with nutrients, but they are biologically active compounds present in our diet and characterised by great structural variability and biological properties.
