This project focuses on enhancing the adaptability of the iCub humanoid robot by developing methods for it to autonomously model its body and navigate complex environments. The goal is to improve the robot's safety and flexibility, drawing inspiration from human cognitive processes.
State-of-the-art robotic technologies rely on preprogrammed models and largely lack the capacity to adapt to unexpected changes to their bodies or the environment.
In order to expand the domain where they can be applied, they need to respond more autonomously, flexibly and robustly.
