The BorSym project aims to explore the connections between bordism theory and the symmetry of mathematical spaces. By developing new methods, it seeks to address open problems in transformation groups and enhance the understanding of derived orbifold bordism.
Bordism theory connects many central areas of mathematics:
Defined via smooth manifolds, it has proved to have deep connections to formal groups from algebraic geometry and stable homotopy theory from algebraic topology.
