This project aims to enhance our understanding of brain structure and function through advanced diffusion magnetic resonance imaging. By mapping cortical fibers non-invasively, it seeks to uncover links between brain wiring, cognitive decline, and neurodegenerative diseases.
MRI provides the unique opportunity to investigate the relation between brain structure and function non-invasively, which is key to understand the functioning of the brain and unravel disease processes.
An important technique is diffusion MRI (dMRI), which allows to reconstruct the structural connections through which brain structures communicate.
