BrightSens aims to create ultrabright fluorescent organic nanoparticles for enhanced detection of biomolecules in living cells. These nanoparticles will respond to single molecular stimuli, facilitating cancer research by enabling precise imaging of important cellular markers.
Existing fluorescent molecular probes, due to limited brightness, do not allow imaging individual biomolecules directly in living cells, whereas bright fluorescent nanoparticles are unable to respond to single molecular stimuli and their inorganic core is not biodegradable.
