Picterus is creating a digital platform for neonatal jaundice screening that allows parents to monitor their newborns at home. This tool aims to facilitate timely referrals to healthcare services, improving care and resource management.
Neonatal jaundice (NNJ) affects 60%-80% of newborns worldwide (84-112 million/year).
Ten percent will develop severe jaundice (SNJ), which can cause permanent brain damage or even death (114,000 newborns die/year, 75,000 suffer severe long-term neurological impairments).
