This project investigates the interaction between Cancer Associated Fibroblasts and cancer cells to understand the mechanics of cancer cell invasion. It employs innovative techniques to measure physical forces and aims to identify new therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.
Cancer cell invasion and metastasis remain the leading cause of cancer-associated death.
It is now clear that invasion is not simply a cancer cell autonomous process but the result of complex interaction between tumour cells and their microenvironment.
