This project focuses on developing a new material, CAPOWER, to enhance ultracapacitors for energy storage in vehicles. By reducing costs and improving performance, it aims to enable the widespread adoption of energy-efficient technologies, ultimately lowering emissions and fuel consumption in the transport sector.
To meet carbon emissions targets, transport must become more energy efficient.
Currently only 14%–30% of the energy from the fuel you put in a vehicle is used to move it down the road, depending on the drive cycle.
