This research aims to create innovative silicon-based photonic devices using carbon nanotubes as integrated light sources, modulators, and detectors. The project seeks to address challenges in photonics for information and communication technologies through novel optoelectronic components.
Primary goal of the proposed research action is the development of a novel strategy for hybridizing silicon based photonic devices, exploiting semiconducting carbon nanotubes (CNT) as integrated light source, modulator and detector.
Photonics in Information and Communication Technologies is more and more investigated for a broad application domain.
