This project aims to improve lithium-ion battery performance by investigating the poorly understood interface between cathodes and electrolytes. It employs advanced fabrication techniques to create model systems that mimic real battery conditions, allowing for detailed analysis of degradation processes.
Lithium-ion batteries have established themselves as the leading power source for mobile applications, however to meet ever increasing demands in energy density and durability, significant improvements must be realised.
