This project investigates how chromosomes are organized and behave during cell division, focusing on the role of specific proteins in chromosome assembly and dynamics. By examining chromosome morphology, the research aims to uncover mechanisms that lead to errors in cell division, which can result in genetic disorders.
Accurate cell division relies on the fact that the genetic information encoded in the DNA molecules is equally segregated into the two daughter cells.
