This project aims to develop and demonstrate a new carbon capture technology called chemical-looping combustion with integrated CO2 capture. The goal is to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in energy-intensive industries, particularly in petroleum refineries in Europe and China.
OBJECTIVES:
Within five years and with the available monetary resources:
A) To demonstrate on system-prototype level a new innovative 2nd generation CCS technology, verified by testing at relevant size and in operational environment, aimed at an efficiency penalty and a capture cost that are significantly lower than alternative technologies.
