This project investigates the role of T-lymphocytes in adverse drug reactions, particularly liver injury caused by flucloxacillin. It aims to characterize drug antigens and T-cell responses to better understand the immunological mechanisms involved.
Immunological reactions represent one of the most feared adverse drug events; they cannot be predicted and show no simple dose-response relationship.
The presence of drug-response T-lymphocytes in patients with cutaneous reactions provides a robust case for their involvement in the disease pathogenesis.
