The CHIMERA project develops advanced membranes that combine the benefits of biological and synthetic membranes for industrial applications. By integrating barrier and transport functions into a single molecular structure, these membranes aim to enhance separation efficiency while remaining scalable and cost-effective.
Membranes are applied in many industrial processes and their performance has significant energetic and economic impact.
