The CHODIA project aims to assess the cultural heritage of Albania's dictatorship period, focusing on monuments and public perceptions. It combines surveys and qualitative research to understand how this contested history is viewed today and to promote the valorization of Albania's recent cultural heritage.
In many Former ‘Eastern Bloc’ countries, underlying historical contingencies and unresolved conflict have led to the neglect of a rich cultural resource: remains of the recent past dating to the communist dictatorship period.
