CIRCLIPO aims to develop sustainable photopolymer materials for additive manufacturing. By utilizing renewable resources, the project seeks to create recyclable polymers that can reduce waste and enhance the mechanical properties of 3D-printed products, contributing to a circular economy.
The high speed and accuracy of photopolymer additive manufacturing methods are enabling the transition of their use from prototyping to production.
While these manufacturing methods have advanced significantly over recent years, this has not been matched by developments in photopolymer resin technology, which remains based on petrochemical sourced materials and produces waste that cannot be recycled.
