This project, CLONESA, investigates the effects of non-invasive brain stimulation on attention and cognitive processes. It aims to create a closed-loop system that can assess and modulate brain activity in real-time, potentially enhancing attention and treating attentional disorders.
It is estimated that we spend up to 50% of our waking hours lost in thought and although mind-wandering (MW) has been associated with adaptive features of cognition such as creativity, it has also been linked with maladaptive patterns of thought that lead to states of reduced attention that can affect safety, learning and mental health.
