This project develops an innovative coating technology for catheters and implantable medical devices that prevents both thrombosis and bloodstream infections. Utilizing layer-by-layer cross-linked nanogels, the coating can release bioactive agents, enhancing patient safety and reducing healthcare costs.
Catheters and implantable medical devices contacting with the bloodstream are sources of internal blood infections and thrombosis.
